Alycia Mondavi
Co-Proprietor and CEO
It is no exaggeration to say Alycia Mondavi and her three sisters were introduced to the wine industry at birth: they were born into one of Napa Valley’s prominent wine families that has owned and operated C. Mondavi and Family since 1943. Just like her father and her sisters, Alycia received her first paycheck at age 10, working for $0.25 an hour as an apprentice doing odd jobs at the winery, from the laboratory to the hospitality center. In 2007 she graduated from the University of San Diego with a business degree in marketing and business management and in 2008 she earned her paralegal certificate.
For four years following her graduation, Alycia worked as a paralegal in a law firm located in the Napa Valley and as an assistant marketing consultant for eight ultrapremium Napa Valley wine labels. Her experience as a paralegal combined with life lessons in the wine business have enabled her to study various avenues in the wine industry, including but not limited to viticultural practices, wine compliance, grape contracts, launching new wine brands, and luxury brand marketing.
In 2012, she joined her sister, Riana, as a fourth-generation family member working for C. Mondavi & Family as a marketing associate managing the family’s high-end brand Aloft. First launched under the family’s C. Mondavi & Family portfolio, Alycia and her three sisters acquired Aloft in January of 2017. Today, Alycia continues to manage the daily operations of Aloft Wines, while also overseeing a brand she and her three sisters launched in 2005 called Dark Matter Wines. Between her time managing the Mondavi Sisters’ Collection and serving as a Brand Ambassador for C. Mondavi & Family, her goal is to continue her family’s legacy.
Although quite devoted to the Mondavi Sisters’ Collection, Alycia spends much of her spare time involved in charities throughout the US. Most notably, she and her three sisters had the honor of chairing Auction Napa Valley in 2018 and successfully raised $13.6 million. Spearheaded by the Napa Valley Vintners, the money raised was donated to Napa County non-profit organizations that bring awareness to children’s education and community health. Today, Alycia serves as a Board of Director for Napa Valley Vintners and Giant Steps, a therapeutic equine program dedicated to enriching and changing the lives of people of all ages and needs.
